The Claire Kantor Foundation

The Claire Kantor Foundation was created to
perpetuate Claire's beautiful, caring and generous spirit, the magic of
her smile and a life that left a lasting impression on so many.
We honor Claire and her life; her infinite kindness,
serenity and inner beauty and her many talents and accomplishments in a
wide range of artistic disciplines. Claire had a playful sense of humor,
a "smile that even a blind man could see" and empathy for her
fellow man that touched the lives of everyone she met.
Claire was born December 15, 1980 in South Africa and
moved to Miami in 1987. She was raised in North Miami Beach, attended
Ojus Elementary, Highland Lakes Middle School and University School. She
was a freshman at Florida State University when she was tragically
killed March 5, 2000 on her way home for Spring Break.
The Claire Kantor Foundation awards scholarships to
Florida residents attending any US college. Recipients must
have a demonstrated interest in the fine arts and must express how
receiving this scholarship will help them in achieving their goals.
